January 2005 saw the inclusion of domestic electrical installations as part of the Building Regulations. In plain terms this means that it is now law that any domestic electrical installation (except for minor works) must now be inspected and tested by the council after installation, unless installed by a Part P approved electrician in accordance with BS7671 (the 16th edition wiring regulations). DCI Electrical Services can design, install, inspect, test and commission your electrical installation in accordance with Part P and BS7671. Ensuring that you receive quality workmanship all work undertaken will be carried out by suitably qualified and experienced tradesmen, without having to inform the local council.
Periodic Inspection and Test
In the UK the regulations that cover domestic electrical installations, recommends that a privately owned domestic residence be periodically inspected and tested upon change of owner, change of use, if there are grounds to suspect a fault, or in any case every 10 years.
